Abstract

Il libro nasce nell'ambito di un progetto elaborato con la SIMTREA (la società scientifica dei docenti di microbiologia agraria) che ha già visto la pubblicazione di un primo volume di Microbiologia generale e agraria in cui vengono sviluppati gli aspetti salienti della Microbiologia ambientale, alimentare e industriale. Questo secondo volume, che ha una connotazione più specialistica, è indirizzato in modo particolare agli studenti delle lauree magistrali e si articola in quattro sezioni: Ecologia microbica, Microbiologia del suolo, Microbiologia per la produzione vegetale e Microbiologia ambientale. Il testo presenta argomenti di grande interesse, oltre che culturale, anche per le possibili applicazioni pratiche: dalla lettura dei 21 capitoli si comprende quanto importante e ampio sia il ruolo della microbiologia nel settore ambientale inteso nel suo significato più esteso. L'esperienza didattica e la competenza scientifica dei numerosi autori coinvolti nella realizzazione del opera hanno garantito un'appropriata trattazione di una materia estremamente dinamica e dai molteplici aspetti quale è la Microbiologia.
