Abstract

Il volume, composto di tredici capitoli, due prefazioni, un'introduzione e un saggio conclusivo, con funzione di postfazione, raccoglie una serie di contributi critici, tutti peer-reviewed, di differenti studiosi esperti di genere che, sul fronte dell'antropologia culturale, della linguistica, della psicologia, dell'etnomusicologia analizzano in chiave storico-culturale e simbolico-sociale, ma con attenzione alla contemporaneità, il singolare fenomeno dei femminielli a Napoli e in Campania. Il saggio di Staiti offre una serie di riscontri etnografici e di antecedenti storici del fenomeno preso in esame, anche con una ampia ricognizione della letteratura. Il volume è stato inoltre tradotto in spagnolo dal Cenex di Cuba (diretto da Marinella Castro); a breve sarà disponibile l'edizione stampata. È in programma anche anche un'edizione in inglese.
