Abstract

Storie di dissolutezza, vizio e sfruttamento come questa costituirono una parte importante, sebbene profondamente deformante, del discorso pubblico sull’aleksandrinstvo, termine sloveno per indicare il peculiare fenomeno di emigrazione femminile dalla regione della Primorska (il Litorale) - tra l’attuale Friuli-Venezia Giulia e la Slovenia (precisamente il goriziano, la valle del Vipacco e la zona di Liubliana) - e l’Egitto, termine che può essere tradotto con “alessandrinismo” e che costituisce l’argomento di questo saggio.4 Le diffuse immagini di vizio e licenziosità spesso associate all’aleksandrinstvo possono considerarsi come l’espressione di ansie di cambiamento sociale articolate attraverso l’uso di registri di genere e razza. Ci si intende qui concentrare sul modo complesso in cui questi registri si articolarono con la dimensione fondamentale dell’esperienza migratoria, il movimento.
