Abstract

Against the background of recent critical debates surrounding the notion of "posthuman" the entry discusses "Lampedusa" as a signifier of the "massacre of the human" (F. Fanon) that takes place along many borders today. The theoretical implications of such "massacre" are discussed at the end of the entry.
