Abstract

L’articolo passa in rassegna la letteratura criminologica internazionale sugli effetti delle scienze forensi nella soluzione dei crimini. L’analisi prende in considerazione le strategie di riforma della polizia, le variabili di caso e di contesto delle investigazioni, l’evoluzione organizzativa e operativa della polizia investigativa, le principali questioni di biotecnologia nell’indagine criminale, e infine l’impatto professionale e sociale dell’investigazione tecnica. Le conclusioni pongono in evidenza il ruolo marginale delle risorse di polizia e delle tecniche forensi nel chiarimento dei casi criminali e la reale necessità della riforma della polizia scientifica, ripartendo dal sapere criminologico sulla polizia moderna.
