Abstract

La persona senza dimora, sempre «atopos, senza luogo, fuori luogo, inclassificabile» (Bourdieu), è al centro del percorso di ricerca presentato in questo volume. L’homelessness è assunta come un prisma che permette di cogliere l’insieme delle trasformazioni in corso nella città contemporanea e nei nostri sistemi di welfare. Posare lo sguardo su ciò che si cristallizza ai margini dello spazio urbano e alla periferia della struttura sociale, nella prospettiva di lettura proposta dall’Autore, costituisce un invito a pensare l’insieme della società ed i processi che la attraversano e la (de)strutturano. Il volume analizza la diffusione di situazioni sempre più marcate dalla deprivazione nel quadro dello sfaldamento delle forme di regolazione sociale proprie della golden age del welfare state e della città fordista. L’Autore si propone di superare le rappresentazioni dominanti del “popolo dell’abisso” e di assicurarne una conoscenza densa, privilegiando uno sguardo “dal basso” e “dall’interno”. A partire da un’analisi situata, il volume presenta sia il profilo ed i percorsi di vita dei senza dimora, sia le forme di intervento sociale attivate per rispondere alla loro condizione di vulnerabilità.
