Abstract

Ce volume a pour objectif de promouvoir une discussion sur la définition de collocation qui sera utile pour des applications lexicographiques. Chacune des contributions se penche sur un ou plusieurs aspects de trois questions principales. La première question abordée concerne, d’une part, les frontières existant entre les collocations et d’autres types de combinaisons de mots, et d’autre part, la manière dont les lexicographes transmettent ces classifications aux utilisateurs des dictionnaires. La deuxième question prise en compte est la possibilité, voire la nécessité, d’adapter la définition de collocation aux objectifs de différents types de dictionnaires, en tenant compte des spécificités de leurs propriétés micro- et macrostructurelles et des besoins des utilisateurs. La troisième question concerne les méthodes pour l’extraction des collocations. Afin d’adapter la définition de collocation à la fonction du dictionnaire, il s’avère nécessaire de développer des méthodes hybrides qui se basent sur les approches de la linguistique de corpus et qui combinent le traitement des données avec d’autres critères tels que l’évaluation des locuteurs natifs et l’analyse contrastive. Tout le volume permet de réfléchir sur la relation entre la pratique lexicographique et la théorisation de la notion de collocation. Il a le grand mérite de stimuler une discussion féconde sur des questions fondamentales pour la recherche en cours et future dans le domaine de la lexicographie.
