Effetti di sito e Vs30: una risposta alla normativa antisismica

Abstract

L’attuale normativa antisismica italiana ricalca l’Eurocodice 8, il quale a sua volta ha recepito in toto la normativa californiana. Questa duplice traduzione ha purtroppo portato a travisare lo spirito originale, che era quello di fornire una base quantitativa a basso costo, seppure molto approssimata, per la classificazione dei suoli in termini di effetti di sito. Il parametro chiave di questa base quantitativa, scelto per la sua ampia disponibilità a scapito di una correlazione modesta con gli effetti di sito, era la velocità media delle onde S nei primi 100 piedi. Questo parametro, che la traduzione nel sistema metrico decimale ha ribattezzato Vs30, in Italia non è affatto disponibile e la sua misura è molto costosa. Ciò porta al paradosso di una normativa che richiede una parametrizzazione allo stesso tempo costosa e poco affidabile degli effetti di sito. Proponiamo una doppia via d’uscita basata sulle misure a stazione singola del tremore sismico.
