The documentation of Ravenna’s defensive architecture has multiple aims, first of all the state of conservation of the portions of the city walls survived to this day. Thanks to the ongoing and advantageous collaboration between local institutions and the University of Bologna, it was possible to carry out an integrated survey by means of photo-modelling applications with Structure from Motion implemented algorithms. The purpose is the achievement of a complete and reliable 3D informative system whose assets are highly detailed 3D digital models. These latter are an efficient dissemination tool for real-time applications with the objective of improving tourists’ awareness about this significant heritage and enhancing the knowledge of the CH.
