Abstract

Il saggio ricostruisce la storia delle “autotraduzioni” di Ferdydurke, gettando luce sulla fortuna internazionale del romanzo e, al contempo, sulla sua storia testuale. Il Ferdydurke spagnolo del 1947 (definito una “riscrittura alloglotta assistita” di quello polacco del 1938) funge infatti da prototesto per il Ferdydurke francese del 1958 (definito una “traduzione autorizzata”), dal quale deriva a sua volta la gran parte delle traduzioni in altre lingue uscite negli anni Sessanta, cosicché la prima ondata di fortuna del romanzo non riguarda in realtà il “vero” Ferdydurke, bensì il suo “secondo originale”. E l’importanza della riscrittura spagnola è ulteriormente accresciuta dal fatto che essa incide à rebours sul testo polacco, determinando modifiche accolte nella sua editio ultima (1957), il che induce a considerarla non come un’appendice secondaria, bensì come una tappa intermedia del processo creativo che conduce alla versione definitiva del romanzo quale oggi noi lo conosciamo. Ferdydurke diviene così l’emblema dei paradossi del multilinguismo legato all’emigrazione, limite ma anche opportunità, sfida che costringe l’autore a elaborare nuove strategie di scrittura e autopresentazione.
