Somatotipo e immagine corporea in età scolare a Cento (Fe)

Abstract

In questa indagine si analizza il somatotipo in 762 bambini (6_11 anni) di Cento (Ferrara) al fine di : 1) valutarne le modificazioni durante la crescita, 2) Verificare la possibile relazione tra somatotipo rilevato e percezione della propria immagine corporea. Il Somatotipo è stato calcolato utilizzando il metodo antropometrico di Heath e Carter e i dati relativi alla percezione della propria immagine corporea sono stati ottenuti somministrando ai bambini le sagome proposte da Collins (1991). Dai nostri dati emerge una forte componente endomorfica e un accumulo di adipe in entrambi i sessi. Inoltre, i bambini esaminati sono più endomorfi e meno ectomorfi rispetto ai bambini europei d'età comparabile. Riguardo all'immagine corporea, si evidenzia una certa discrepanza tra somatotipo rilevato e percezione dela propria immagine corporea, che, tuttavia, migliora con l'età e sembra essere più coerente nelle bambine.
