Abstract

Il compendio di Medicina Nucleare si propone di offrire agli studenti del Corso di laurea in Medicina e Chirurgia e del Corso di Laurea in Tecniche di Radiologia Medica, nonchè agli specializzandi nell'ambito della Facoltà di Medicina e Chirurgia, con particolare riguardo ai corsi di specializzazione dell'Area Radiologica, un testo sintetico sui principi generali delle metodiche medico-nucleari e delle loro principali applicazioni cliniche. E' stato dato uno spazio consistente nei capitoli introduttivi alla descrizione delle apparecchiature e dei radiofarmaci, mentre per quanto riguarda le diverse metodiche e le loro applicazioni cliniche si è cercato di limitare la trattazione a quelle che hanno attualmente un'ampia utilizzazione. Oltre alle metodiche della medicina nucleare convenzionale, scintigrafie e tomoscintigrafie (SPECT), è stata rivolta particoalre attenzione alle più recenti metodiche della PET e della PET-TC e al loro ruolo nella stadiazione delle neoplasie, nella valutazione dell'efficacia delle terapie e nella valutazione di ripresa della malattia neoplastica. Il testo è completato da un'ampia iconografia che contribuicse a rendere più compensibile il contenuto.
