EFECTO DE LA EXPOSICIÓN A ENROFLOXACINO SOBRE BIOMARCADORES HEPÁTICOS DE PINTARROJA (Scyliorhinus canicula)

Abstract

Libro de Res ́umenes: El uso de enrofloxacino como antibiótico profiláctico en tanques con pintarroja es cada vez más habitual. Con el fin de determinar posibles efectos tóxicos del mismo en estos animales, se desarrolló un experimento en condiciones de laboratorio. Para ello, se distribuyeron aleatoriamente 40 animales adultos en 4 grupos: animales no tratados, animales control (exposición IM a solución salina), y animales expuestos diariamente a dos dosis IM (5 y 10 mg/kg) de enrofloxacino. El día 14 del experimento se procedió al sacrificio de los animales tomándose muestras de hígado. Sobre estas muestras se determinaron distintos marcadores hepáticos (MDA, GSH, GST y actividad catalasa) que puedan poner en evidencia algún tipo de alteración por la exposición al antibiótico. Los resultados mostraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas (P<0.05) entre el grupo control y la dosis más alta para las actividades enzimáticas GST y CAT, así como para los niveles de GSH. Además, en el caso de la CAT se encontró una diferencia estadísticamente significativa (P<0.001) entre ambos grupos expuestos. Los resultados obtenidos permiten evidenciar el efecto tóxico de este antibiótico de uso común en tiburones en cautividad.
