Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae: colonizzazione della pianta

Abstract

Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (Psa), agente del cancro batterico dell’actinidia (CBA), appartiene alla specie P. syringae e verosimilmente rappresenta una popolazione batterica che, dotandosi di appropriati fattori di virulenza, si è patoadattata all’actinidia sotto l’effetto di una pressione selettiva di diversi fattori, naturali e antropici (Stavrinides et al., 2008). In letteratura è noto che Pseudomonas syringae può albergare all’interno di piante adulte allo stato endofita senza indurre alcun sintomo (Crosse, 1959; Cameron, 1970; Hirano & Hupper, 2000). In Italia, recenti studi hanno evidenziato che Psa può essere isolato da tronchi e germogli di piante asintomatiche di actinidia (Galelli et al., 2011; Mucini et al., 2011). Analogamente a quanto è stato evidenziato per P. syringae pv. syringae (Pss), agente del cancro delle drupacee, Psa potrebbe causare infezioni sistemiche asintomatiche o ad espressione differita. Per saggiare questa ipotesi è stato allestito un impianto sperimentale di Actinidia chinensis cv. Hort16A per studiare le modalità di colonizzazione della pianta ospite da parte di Psa.
