Gastroschisi e onfalocele

Abstract

In questa pubblicazione, indirizzata alla consultazione del pediatra e, per gli aspetti tecnici innovativi, dei giovani chirurghi pediatri, è raccolta l’esperienza maturata nella terapia chirurgica di gastroschisi e onfalocele. Gastroschisi ed onfalocele sono i difetti congeniti più comuni della parete addominale. Fino a qualche decennio fa la prognosi ad essi correlata era infausta. Negli ultimi anni, grazie all’introduzione ed al diffondersi di un programma di screening ecografico della gravidanza è possibile effettuare una diagnosi prenatale che permette di pianificare le modalità del parto e le cure neonatali in centri di terzo livello. Il counseling interdisciplinare con i genitori li rende consapevoli e li prepara alla gestione del loro bambino. Le tecniche di ricostruzione della parete addominale si sono evolute attraverso approcci sempre più “mininvasivi” con ottimi risultati estetici e funzionali.
