Abstract

Il testo è la base drammaturgica del cabaret filosofico “Leopardi”, diretto da chi scrive per il Teatro Stabile di Torino, in collaborazione con il Teatro Due di Parma e l’Unione Musicale torinese e debuttato al Teatro Vittoria di Torino il 9 novembre del 2005. Si tratta di un assemblaggio scenico di frammenti di opere leopardiane montati sempre da chi scrive sullo scheletro del “Discorso sullo stato presente dei costumi degli italiani”. Ironica mappa del pensiero etico e politico di Leopardi, il copione giustappone ai nuclei portanti del breve saggio che il grande poeta recanatese dedica intorno alla metà degli anni Venti del XIX secolo alla spietata analisi dei mores italici, citazioni da: il “Canto notturno di un pastore errante dell’Asia”, “Le ricordanze”, “L’uccello”, “La storia del genere umano”, il “Dialogo di un venditore d’almanacchi e di un passeggere”, “La sera del dì di festa”, “La ginestra o il fiore del deserto”, il “Dialogo di un folletto e di uno gnomo”, “Il tramonto della luna”, “Alla luna” ed infine dal “Dialogo di Tristano e di un amico”.
