I matrimoni misti: implicazioni biologiche

Abstract

Nel processo microevolutivo l’isolamento riproduttivo è condizione essenziale per la differenziazione genetica tra popolazioni. Tale differenziazione è tuttavia contrastata efficacemente dal flusso genico che si realizza grazie all’incrocio tra migranti e membri delle popolazioni riceventi. Le indicazioni degli studi di Genetica di popolazioni e Antropologia molecolare convergono nel descrivere la variabilità genetica entro la specie umana come priva di importanti discontinuità e comunque di gran lunga maggiore entro popolazioni che tra popolazioni. Il senso di appartenenza ad un gruppo non ha pertanto fondamenti di natura biologica, anche se i membri di una popolazione possono presentare una certa somiglianza nei caratteri esterni per effetto di adattamento all’ambiente. Partendo da queste premesse, in questo contributo saranno prese in esame le implicazioni biologiche della endogamia/esogamia. Si illustrerà inoltre come, considerando il cognome quale parametro di interazione biologica, si possa valutare il grado di affinità o differenziazione genetica tra popolazioni dovuto all’entità degli scambi migratori/matrimoniali nel passato. Saranno infine discussi alcuni esempi che riguardano anche popolazioni del Trentino-Alto Adige.
