Abstract

La monografía ilustra los principales aspectos del desarrollo economico y social de la Provincia de Santa Fe, la segunda provincia económicamente mas importante de Argentina, solo superada por la Provincia de Buenos Aires. El trabajo de análisis se basa en una investigación realizada entre 2.500 empresas, a partir de entrevistas estructuradas realizadas al principal directivo de la empresa. La riqueza de las conclusiones se deriva de la sistemática comparación realizada con el resto de industria argentina, focalizando la atención en la edad de las empresas y su forma societaria, la pertenencia o no a una cadena de valor, la inversión en capital físico y humano, el acceso al financiamiento, el análisis de la situación economico-financiera de la empresa. Un rol destacado en el análisis se confiere a las políticas públicas locales (provinciales y municipales) para el desarrollo productivo y a la evolución del mercado laboral en la provincia. La monografía contiene un rico apéndice estadístico organizado por sector de actividad según la Clasificación Industrial Uniforme de Naciones Unidas.
