Description of the Herla Project and its future potentialities to investigate the network of connections, concerning every kind of spectacular events, between the Gonzaga's en the Low Countries in the Early Modern period. Els Stronks introduces the project; Simona Brunetti describes its history and aim and focuses on one specific case-study; Marco Prandoni analyses the diplomatic and politic aspects of Vincenzo Gonzaga's first visit to the United Provinces in 1608, at the time when they were involved in the negociatons with Spain that would lead to the Twelve-Year Truce. Prandoni's sources are documents which are archieved in the Herla database and Dutch historiographers.
