Abstract

L’integrazione degli obiettivi ambientali nella pianificazione delle aree produttive può avvenire efficacemente attraverso l’utilizzo della Valutazione Ambientale Strategica, strumento che, attraverso l’individuazione preventiva degli effetti derivanti dalla realizzazione del nuovo insediamento, consente non solo di definire criteri generali di progettazione, ma soprattutto di formulare pre-condizioni da soddisfare prima di avviare la trasformazione e criteri di selezione che possono guidare l’individuazione dei settori produttivi più idonei per il perseguimento della “chiusura del ciclo”. In questo modo, si viene a creare uno strumento di supporto alle decisioni che permette di affiancare la realizzazione delle aree produttive ecologicamente attrezzate (APEA) sin dalle prime fasi di pianificazione e che accompagnerà la sua implementazione, ponendo le basi per un’efficace gestione ambientale dell’area e per il monitoraggio nel tempo dei suoi effetti.
