CRITICAL LOAD AND POST-CRITICAL BEHAVIOUR OF LAMINATED PLANE BEAMS

Abstract

Object of this research is the analysis, within the framework of finite displacements, of laminated plane beams both with straight or curved axis. For such structures, as it is well known, non-negligible transverse shear stresses arise, so that shear strains become an important issue. In the present work a hybrid-mixed finite element model with assumed strains, which has been previously proposed for the linear analysis of laminated plates, is further developed.
