A theoretical model for the time dependent analysis of the shear-lag effect in twin-girder steel-concrete composite decks with flexible shear connection is proposed to account for the following prestressing techniques: settlement of supports, cables inside the concrete slab and external slipping tendons. Some applications are carried out on realistic bridge decks to investigate the shear-lag effect on these types of structures. The effective widths and the normal stresses of the slab are then evaluated and compared with the ones predicted by ENV 1994-2.
