In the Mediterranean sea a great tragedy is taking place: thousands of migrants die trying to reach Europe to carry out their migration project. The right to save those who are in danger at sea is going in second place with respect to the obsession that they have states to strengthen border control. In the Mare Nostrum the telos of the West and democratic states are being tested in the 21st century. The Mare Nostrum is again tinged with red and becoming Mare Monstrum place without rights for the poor and persecuted of the earth.
