Abstract

Il volume pubblica i risultati di una ricerca Prin (Università di Cassino e Università di Napoli Federico II) che applica allo studio dei fenomeni elettorali la cartografia tematica, con particolare riferimento all’uso dei Geographic Information Systems (Sistemi informativi territoriali), per l’analisi e l’interpretazione del voto di lista e del voto di preferenza nella circoscrizione elettorale del Lazio dal 1946 al 1963. Oltre a una sezione di carattere storiografico, metodologico e interpretativo, esso fornisce l’elaborazione statistica e la visualizzazione sintetica, sotto forma di tabelle, grafici e cartogrammi, dei risultati a livello comunale, provinciale e circoscrizionale del voto di lista nel suddetto collegio , mentre il volume degli stessi autori sul voto di preferenza alla Democrazia cristiana è in corso di stampa. Primo risultato di un progetto informatico ed editoriale più ampio e sostanzialmente innovativo, il volume presenta l’elaborazione dei dati elettorali come un sistema informativo aperto all’integrazione con altre serie storiche e, come tale, utile allo studio di fenomeni e dinamiche di natura non soltanto elettorale
