Economia sociale e innovazione urbana

Abstract

“What are cities but not people?” (William Shakespeare, Re Lear). Lo spazio è un’entità geografica, mentre il luogo è un’entità socio-culturale: diventano luoghi quegli spazi nei quali la dimensione comunitaria è protagonista dell’innovazione. Paradossalmente, una delle conseguenze della cosiddetta globalizzazione è quella di aver fatto riscoprire la dimensione locale: i territori sono i luoghi privilegiati dai quali provengono significativi impulsi allo sviluppo economico e sociale; le relazio-ni situate assumono un duplice significato funzionale e culturale: da un lato, infrastrutturano la comunità in quanto sense making; dall’altro, forniscono prospettiva alle azioni innovative. A partire dal concetto di economia sociale, come paradigma che punta a ridefinire i bisogni fondamentali di una comunità territoriale, coinvolgendola nella pianificazione e gestione delle attività produttive e distributive e assumendo come criterio-guida quello di valore condiviso, cercheremo di riflettere sul contributo che organizzazioni ed iniziative locally embedded possono fornire nel percorso verso un’economia “altra”, più attenta alle dimensioni etiche, sociali e ambientali del lavoro come pratica produttiva ed espressiva e della città come deposito di opportunità sostenibili.
