Abstract

Le economie di scala globale stanno dando forma ad un sistema complesso, urbanizzato, ramificato e condensato in punti, determinato dalle linee di forza delle infrastrutture, dall’attrazione dei trasporti e delle nuove tecnologie di comunicazione, triangolato sui nessi dei costi del lavoro e delle materie prime. I progetti di scala globale hanno già attraversato il Novecento, alcuni rimasti sulla carta dall’Atlantropa di Sörgel, alle torri solari di Günther, altre parzialmente o totalmente realizzati come lo staliniano “Grande piano per la trasformazione della natura” o le operazioni New Deal della Tennessy Valley Autorithy. Altre ancora sono in corso d’opera come le muraglie verdi cinesi e africane. E’ giusto guardare con preoccupata attenzione al gigantismo delle infrastrutture planetarie e alla bulimia progettuale, ma bisogna ricordare che il controllo del clima a scala planetaria deliberato nel protocollo di Kyoto è un programma “progressista” di geo-engineering planetaria già oggi ben presente nelle agende internazionali.
