Il fascino discreto della borghesia

Abstract

Il saggio propone una analisi testuale di temi e forme nel Fascino discreto della borghesia, orientata da modelli psicoanalitici di matrice lacaniana. Il Fascino discreto della borghesia è uno dei film più rappresentativi di una importante fase della vasta produzione cinematografica di Luis Buñuel. Il testo, dopo aver ricostruito la struttura narrativa e scelte compositive che in parte si discostano da modi espressivi consolidati nelle opere del regista, esplora l’impossibilità dei protagonisti di soddisfare il desiderio volto a completare insieme il rito di un pasto, impossibilità messa in scena più volte. Tale atto mancato è affidato dal regista alla tirannia della ripetizione, motivo ricorrente del suo cinema. Le figure che si alternano sullo schermo paiono identità appese a falsi sembianti, cristallizzate anche loro in canoni recitativi ripetitivi. La particolare costruzione narrativa, che vede l’affastellarsi di racconti di sogni, nonché la messa in scena di sogni che si incastrano l’uno nell’altro come in un meccanismo di scatole cinesi, viene analizzata ponendo particolare attenzione ai concetti psicoanalitici di “fantasma” e di “reale”. Infine l’immagine reiterata dei protagonisti che procedono su una strada deserta circondata dal nulla è anch’essa posta in relazione alla chiusura in una ripetizione alimentata dalla pulsione di morte.
