Procedure Automatiche per la Modellazione 3D

Abstract

In questo articolo vengono presentate le procedure ed i risultati ottenuti nella creazione automatica di modelli 3D digitali ad elevata risoluzione, utilizzabili non solo ai fini di studi ed analisi nel campo della Ricerca scientifica ma anche più semplicemente per scopi di visualizzazione in ambienti di Realtà Virtuale. I modelli così ottenuti possono essere inoltre adeguatamente sfruttati per la conservazione e l’archiviazione di opere d’arte soggette all’usura del tempo o come metodo di divulgazione del patrimonio culturale. In questo contesto la modellazione basata su tecniche automatiche per la registrazione delle viste 3D costituisce l’obiettivo centrale del nostro lavoro. Presentiamo in tal senso una metodologia che, pur non richiedendo strumentazione particolare, risulta efficiente e può ridurre sostanzialmente i costi per la produzione dei modelli digitali tridimensionali.
