Abstract—In this paper we investigate the performance of two multicast routing protocols, implemented in SAM, in its classic and DPC (Distibuted Power Control) version. These protocols are AMRIS [1] and ODMRP [2] and the performance are obtained with 802.11b MAC protocol [7]. The DPC version of these two protocols has been named AMRIS Power Control and ODMRP Power Control respectively. We investigate the effects of the multicast group size and of the number of sources on the performance of the multicast routing protocols, in both the versions. We compute the packet delivery fraction and energy spent by the network as merit factors.
