Disabilità cognitiva verso l’adultità. Pratiche narrative nella prospettiva inclusiva

Abstract

L’aspettativa di vita delle persone con disabilità cognitiva è aumentata in maniera rilevante grazie ai progressi realizzati in campo medico e sociale ma, soprattutto, alla percezione culturale che restituisce a queste persone, anche se non ancora integralmente, possibilità di esser-ci e di rappresentare la propria umanità. Le concezioni e le pratiche inerenti la disabilità, in particolare quella cognitiva, il corso di vita e la percezione di sé, richiamano a nuovi paradigmi interpretativi, quali la teoria della complessità che, oltre a rispondere ai bisogni di piena partecipazione, appartenenza e cittadinanza di ogni persona promuovono un radicale cambiamento culturale e strutturale dei contesti formativi. Nella prospettiva inclusiva le pratiche narrative rappresentano uno strumento efficace di formazione, consapevolezza e promozione dei diritti di libertà, autonomia e scelta a partire dalle agenzie formative primarie, la famiglia e la scuola che già dall’infanzia devono pensare “adulta” la persona disabile.
