Although the Italian Risorgimento and the Czech National Revival have much in common, from the side of Italian historians, the interest for the Czech national revival was very limited. A complete study on Czech National Revival, made by Italian historians, was never realized. Shorter reports were available only within larger overviews of European history. Even the question of the Czech national language, which was closely associated with the national revival, was only fragmentary analyzed. Historiography remained but long out of the field of Slavonic Studies, and also in Italy, where still the split between history and philology has never been so dramatic as in other countries, the question of the Czech National Revival remained on the edge of the historians’ interest
