Abstract

Ormai invisibile ai romani, la bellezza di Roma è stata svenduta a frotte di turisti che non ne colgono l’essenza e la usurano impoverendone l’economia. Infatti, sebbene Roma racconti più di 3000 di anni di storia e sia testimonianza vivente dell’architettura e dell’arte dall’età Augustea al Medioevo, dal Rinascimento al Barocco fino al periodo Umbertino e al Novecento, sembriamo incapaci di cogliere le opportunità di ennesima rinascita che offre la Capitale. Ci interroghiamo allora, in questo numero, su come fare per riuscire a valorizzare il patrimonio unico della nostra città, nella consapevolezza che innovazione e storia costituiscono il binomio fondamentale su cui lavorare per rendere Roma in grado di competere con le capitali europee, annullandone l’atmosfera obsoleta e provinciale con cui viene letta all’estero, che pure ci ha portato grande fama, valorizzandone la storia e il capitale archeologico e architettonico, rafforzandone l’identità culturale.
