Abstract

The new ISO 30300 family of technical standards on records management integrates and partly replaces the technical documents of the ISO 15489 series. The essay highlights how in the digital environment there is a growing tendency to explore themes and technical concepts already consolidated in the scientific and professional community, in order to reinterpret them in a managerial perspective aimed at placing such themes and concepts within the scope of management systems, regardless of their specific application environment. Such a phenomenon is somehow paradoxical: new technologies induce a progressive and exasperated technification and specialization, yet encourage shifting themes to more transversal areas of discourse where practices, skills and competencies tend to assume less precise contours , in favor of the much-vaunted multidisciplinarity.
