I «Propositi» per di "Documenti di filologia" Ricciardi: la «radicale novità» del progetto editoriale di Contini

Abstract

Il fascicolo che contiene il dattiloscritto e le bozze di stampa della nota introduttiva ai « Documenti di filologia » Ricciardi (conservato nell’Archivio Ricciardi presso Apice) svela un dato interessante: i sette giri di bozze conservati presentano numerose revisioni sia dell’autore, Gianfranco Contini, che dell’editore, Raffaele Mattioli. È un gioco a due voci che consolida l’idea che questo testo – minimo per estensione e massimo per le implicazioni – sia stato percepito come fondamentale non semplicemente per presentare il progetto editoriale della nuova collezione, ma soprattutto per veicolare un’idea di cultura. Il saggio ricostruisce la sequenza delle varianti inserite da Contini e da Mattioli, esplicita le diverse posizioni dei due intellettuali e prende cosí in analisi la nascita di un progetto editoriale protagonista di un periodo cruciale per la biografia di studioso di Contini e per la cultura italiana del Novecento.
