The ‘Risk Map’ information system was created to survey and illustrate the vulnerability of individual monuments and historical buildings, and to evaluate the condition of their conservation. There is not yet a system that is able to describe the architecture of an historical centre in the same manner. The proposed essay is derived from experimentation with the possibilities and limits of using the territorial ‘Risk Map’ computer system potentially to produce an expedient record that helps to define the values and the risks of buildings in historical centres, particularly small ones.The definition of this system could help prevent possible risks, and manage the various aspects of conservation on an urban scale.
