Abstract

il territorio è stato profondamente segnato e modificato dal passaggio della strada ferrata che ha giocato, e tuttora gioca, un ruolo fondamentale nel condizionare l'assetto urbanistico delle città. All'oggi non è possibile immaginare un mondo senza ferrovie. Ogni giorno i lavoratori pendolari si servono dei treni per recarsi a lavoro, i turisti usano lo stesso mezzo per andare in vacanza e molte merci vengono trasportate in tutto il mondo sull'estesa rete di binari.
