I analyze the various periodes in which we can recognize a stronger connection between courtly Provençal lyric and the sovereigns of the Catalan-Aragonse Kingdom, offering a chronology of reference and advancing some hypotheses of interpretation of this peculiar phenomenon in connection to the varying fortune of the troubadours and the evolution of their production.
