Abstract

Con il raggiungimento della versione 13 di AutoCAD la Autodesk ha finalmente soddisfatto un esiguo nucleo di persone che come me aveva a che fare con il traccia mento di ellissi. Fino a tale versione infatti il programma non aveva ancora implementata una vera e propria funzione di tracciamento della conica bensì 'simulava' tale curva mediante una polilinea composta da 16 settori circolari. Indubbiamente il risultato era pressoché indistinguibile; tuttavia i cultori della Scienza della Rappresentazione sentivano la loro esigenza di rigore geometrico continuamente frustrata. Anche i puristi finalmente possono quindi tracciare ellissi potendone 'certificare' in tutta coscienza l'esattezza punto per punto. Rimane però una particolare esigenza riguardante le modalità, i parametri con i quali definire tale figura geometrica. La condizione necessaria è la conoscenza del centro e degli assi. Vi sono sostanzialmente due esigenze generalmente disattese dai programmi CAD che impongono un programma come quello di seguito mostrato: il rilevamento e la prospettiva.
