Abstract

Il numero dei rifugiati che risiedono in Italia (56.000) non è paragonabile a quello di altri paesi europei come ad esempio la Germania (600.000) o il Regno Unito (300.000). Si tratta di dati eloquenti che fotografano una situazione italiana in cui la carenza di strutture di accoglienza e l’inadeguatezza di dispositivi e politiche di integrazione trasforma aspiranti rifugiati in migranti clandestini. Chi non vuole inoltrare la propria domanda per il riconoscimento dello status di rifugiato in Italia, si trova inevitabilmente a sopravvivere illegalmente nel nostro paese in attesa di ripartire. Tale situazione accentua il carattere transitorio di una presenza straniera che finisce con l’attraversare e con il vivere solo temporaneamente all’interno dei nostri confini. Roma è in questo senso una città paradigmatica: essa è diventata nel tempo ed in maniera sempre più significativa il crocevia di flussi migratori temporanei.
