Dopo il dono. Dalla filantropia all’economia solidale

Abstract

Ricevere un regalo è certo piacevole, ma è anche imbarazzante. Oltre alla necessità di esserne felici, di ringraziare, persino di apparire sopresi, ci lascia la necessità di contraccambiare. Sin dalla sua riscoperta da parte della scuola antiutilitarista delle scienze sociali, dalle opere di Marcel Mauss e Alain Caillé, Il dono costituisce il fondamento di intere culture, il “paradigma” di un sistema economico. Per questo motivo l’utilizzo del termine appare appropriato per definire le tante pratiche di gratuità e volontariato, per l’economia sociale. È però insoddisfacente per connotare le attività di raccolta fondi. Dal Commercio equo e solidale, nasce invece l'idea di superare il dono come metodo “dal basso” per superare gli squilibri mondiali. L’unione di questi due modelli costituisce un possibile superamento del sistema della donazione monetaria, un’alternativa alla semplice raccolta fondi. L’obiettivo diventa quello di costruire una rete di economia solidale.
