Si descrive l'attività di riscoperta dei lavori geodetici di Secchi lungo la via Appia Antica nel XIX sec.. In particolare, si evidenzia la scoperta di una parte del tombino che proteggeva il caposaldo B della base geodetica alle Frattocchie (Marino, Roma, Italia)
