Abstract

La presente pubblicazione intende approfondire il tema delle residenze universitarie, dalla nascita della città universitaria come forma Urbana ai rispettivi metodi di realizzazione, per poi scendere di scala sulla Città di Roma, al caso specifico dell’ambito urbano di Pietralata, sul quale tema sono esposti i risultati dell’esperienza didattica svolta nell’ambito del Corso di “Progettazione Architettonica e Ambientale” da me condotto presso la Facoltà di Architettura della Sapienza Università di Roma negli Anni Accademici dal 2005 al 2010. Il Corso si è proposto l’elaborazione di soluzioni progettuali e approfondimenti tematici sul tema delle residenze per gli Studenti, intendendo sottolinearne il ruolo di priorità strategica nelle attività di programmazione e sviluppo della Sapienza e ha specificatamente individuato nella localizzazione dell’area dismessa di Pietralata il fulcro progettuale delle attività didattiche. Tale scelta, è in linea con la direzione intrapresa da alcuni anni da molte amministrazioni locali in ambito universitario in tutta Europa, laddove sempre più emerge e si consolida la tesi secondo la quale i campus possano rappresentare una delle scommesse amministrative del XXI secolo.
