Abstract

The essay describes the areal distribution of the Italo-Romance dialects and outlines their main phonological/morphological characteristics in order to enable a wider non-Italian audience to frame the texts of a number of popular Italian songs - recorded and transcribed by the editors - within their proper linguistic landscape.

Il saggio descrive la distribuzione areale dei dialetti italoromanzi e ne segnala le principali caratteristiche fonologiche e morfologiche al fine di permettere a un pubblico più vasto e non italiano di collocare correttamente i testi di una serie di canti popolari italoromanzi registrati e trascritti dai curatori.
