Abstract

La produzione è l’attività economica più importante per l’uomo. Consiste nella trasformazione di input al fine di ottenere degli output. La combinazione dei differenti input in un processo produttivo rappresenta la “tecnologia” di produzione, ossia il modo e il tramite attraverso il quale gli input in un processo produttivo vengono trasformati in output. Alla base del cambiamento delle tecnologie di produzione c’è poi l’innovazione. Questa, a sua volta, può influenzare la tecnologia oppure esplicitarsi nel modo con cui le attività di produzione vengono gestite. Produzione, tecnologia, innovazione e gestione sono, quindi, concetti strettamente interconnessi fra loro: la comprensione del legame organico che li unisce rappresenta il filo conduttore del presente libro. Il volume si concentra, pertanto, sull’analisi dei ruoli che tecnologia, innovazione e gestione giocano ai fini del corretto ed efficiente svolgimento del processo produttivo. In questo capitolo viene presentata una rassegna delle tecnologie che contribuiscono alla corretta ed efficiente gestione del processo produttivo.
