Abstract

La Campagna Antartica 89-90 rappresenta, per i gruppi che si occupano di studiare la componente eterotrofica fungina, la terza occasione di prelevamenti a Baia Terra Nova. Fino ad oggi lo studio è stato rivolto ad un censimento delle specie presenti, anche perché le informazioni bibliografiche, in questo campo, sono abbastanza frammentarie. I prelievi per lo studio dei microfunghi sono stati effettuati sia in ambiente acquatico, che lacustre, che terrestre: a questo scopo il lavoro delle U.O. impegnate copre l'esame di tutti questi ecosistemi, con un'estensione verso quello che è lo studio dell'impatto antropico, ciòè dell'apporto dell'uomo quale trasportatore passivo di organismi. Anche in questo caso è interessante valutare la capacità di adattamento delle specie, verificando la loro eventuale persistenza negli anni. Le condizioni limite a cui abbiamo accennato e la relativa semplicità di funzionamento degli ecosistemi, permetteranno probabilmente di usare l'ambiente antartico come modello di funzionamento ecosistemico.
