An ad-hoc procedure for the seismic reliability assessment of monumental buildings, based on the macroelement approach and the probabilistic description of the relevant quantities, is briefly presented, together with its extension to forecasting the probability distribution of damages due to earthquakes among similar monumental buildings. The procedure is illustrated on a case example: a church in the Friuli Region (North East Italy).
