Il lavoro analizza i risultati delle elezioni europee in Irlanda nel 2009, non senza però aver prima evidenziato il numero dei rappresentanti da eleggere al Parlamento di Strasburgo e il sistema elettorale, nonché il risultato delle precedenti elezioni europee indette nel giugno del 2004. In ultima battuta vengono analizzati i risultati delle elezioni del 5 giugno 2009 che non hanno smentito i sondaggi. Il dato che emerge e che viene analizzato è la pesante sconfitta del Governo in carica, retto dal Fianna Fail, e il successo del Fine Gael, che diviene così primo partito del Paese.

This paper analyzes the results of the European elections in Ireland in 2009, but not without having first shown the number of representatives to be elected to Parliament in Strasbourg and the electoral system, and the results of previous European elections held in June 2004. In the last line are analyzed the results of the elections of 5 June 2009 that have not disputed the polls. The figure that emerges and that is analyzed is the heavy defeat of the incumbent government, ruled by Fianna Fail, Fine Gael and success, thus becoming the first party in the country.
