Un modello econometrico per la sanità: il rischio di ospedalizzazione

Abstract

Nell’ultimo decennio il sistema sanitario del nostro Paese è stato oggetto di una profonda trasformazione che, con l’introduzione nel governo del sistema dei principi di efficacia, efficienza ed economicità propri dell’organizzazione aziendale, ha avuto come obiettivo la razionalizzazione della spesa sanitaria. Scopo di questo lavoro è studiare il rapporto tra una delle componenti principali della spesa sanitaria, cioè il ricovero ospedaliero, con l’assistenza extra ospedaliera, in termini di spesa e di domanda, e con aspetti demografici e sociali. Il modello econometrico proposto consente di valutare quello che abbiamo definito il “rischio economico di ospedalizzazione”, ossia il rischio che sorge quando il ricorso alla pratica del ricovero ospedaliero potrebbe essere evitato o limitato nel tempo.
