3D MODELING & BIM. Progettazione, design, proposte per la ricostruzione

Abstract

3D modeling and BIM are key topics in design daily practice. 3D modeling allows a preview and display of items and inter- ventions transforming the territory, from a small to a large scale. It enables designers to verify their design choices and, possibly, take corrective action. BIM, with the latest legislative decree of 18 April 2016 no. 50, has become an indispensable tool for the digital manage- ment of information processes in the construction industry. Its use is a new frontier for architects. In the book are collected papers from experts, professionals and scholars divided into three sections: Issues related to BIM, with documents that address the BIM from multiple points of view, going from the most recent regulatory scenarios (Legislative Decree 50/2016), to desi- gn approaches, representation or management of the con- struction process; 3D Modeling, where the dominant topic is 3D modeling and the best forms of rendering and dynamic visualization of the project; Capturing 3D, 3D Modeling & BIM, where 3D mode- ling and BIM are connected to survey process, to landscape, augmented reality and cultural heritage.
