Abstract

Regenerating the urban periphery entails transforming the margin into an origin, restoring to the city its capacity to reimagine itself. To narrate the periphery as a locus of possibility—where fragility becomes a resource—constitutes a cultural, political, and poetic act. Through research experiences, design narratives, and critical reflections, this volume investigates the edges of the contemporary city as spaces of renewal, where architecture engages with the social, environmental, and symbolic complexity of urban life. Regeneration is not understood as a mere physical upgrading, but as a process of reconnection and attentive listening, capable of restoring identity and dignity to neglected places. This is not a compendium of solutions, but an invitation to reconsider dwelling as an act of care and responsibility toward the city and its shared destiny.
